Light: Its Interaction with Art and Antiques Brill, Thomas B.
For the artist and craftsman, light is both a blessing and a curse
-- integral to the beauty of art, but also capable of physically and chemically damaging it. This unique book provides art
conservators, museum personnel, and artists with an elementary understanding of the effects of light on materials. Both the
beneficial effects -- those that produce color and the desired appearance in works of art -- and the detrimental effects --
those that result in deterioration and color changes -- are examined. Extensively illustrated. Includes bibliography at the
end of each chapter. In 287 pages, including an index. Plenum Press, New York and London, 1980. Clothbound Hardcover.
Book Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Inventory # 0403273 SOLD
